Responsibilities
- Aid in the implementation of age/developmentally appropriate lessons plans.
- Maintain an orderly, clean, welcoming classroom environment for children and parents.
- Pass on any notes, communications, messages to the classroom teacher promptly.
- Interact positively with children at all times.
- Maintain visual supervision of children at all times.
- Observe individual children daily and update the classroom teacher’s portfolio accordingly.
- Keep documentation for each child as directed by the classroom teacher, including accident/incident reports, sick reports, daily notes, etc.
- Keep community areas of the building neat and clean, including playground areas, bathrooms, snack area, common area, refrigerator, supply cabinets, etc.
- Clean and sanitize educational materials as needed.
- Participate in DCF Mandated Reporter, First Aid, and PMT training if required.
- Report any unsafe or uncomfortable working conditions to the Building Administrator immediately.
- Work cooperatively with the teacher and serve as a positive role model for children.
Qualifications
- ParaPro Certificate or Associate's Degree preferred.
- Prompt, reliable, dependable candidate with good oral and written communication skills.
