Paraeducator

About the role

Under the supervision of an assigned administrator and direction of a credentialed staff member, assist in the instructional program for students in a variety of educational settings; provide instruction and support student growth, and be a positive role model to students in basic living skills, social interactions, and academic development. Incumbents assist in providing students with educational and behavioral support, which directly supports student learning.

Responsibilities

• Assist credentialed staff with instructional activities and student supervision
• Provide support to students in basic living skills, social interactions, and academic development
• Implement behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to support individualized student plans

Requirements / Qualifications

• Experience working with children with disabilities
• Experience translating and interpreting materials (if bilingual)
• Knowledge of behavior management and positive reinforcement
• Commitment to providing students with support and assistance
• Passion for working with children in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
