Paraeducator-Independence Facilitator - 7 hrs/day (Grant)

Provides individual behavior intervention and medical support to students in classroom settings, assists individuals or small groups of students to enhance learning. Assists teachers with instruction and classroom management in special education and general education classrooms, lunchroom, and play field environments.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or completion of at least 48 college credit units as a substitute).
• NCLB Compliance: 48 college units (semester) or passing the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam.
• Proof of high school graduation (diploma, transcripts, or equivalent such as GED).
• Resume providing clear evidence of required experience.
• May require a valid driver’s license.
• Compliance with District skill/competency requirements.
• May require a valid First Aid/CPR card.

Pay

$21.24 - $28.08 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on relevant experience.

Schedule

• 7 hours/day, 5 days/week.
• 182 work days/year.
