About the role
- Provides individual behavior intervention and medical support to students in a classroom setting
- Assists individuals or small groups of students to enhance learning
- Assists teachers with instruction and classroom management in special education and general education classrooms, lunchroom, and play field environs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
- Completion of at least 48 college credit units may substitute for the competency assessment
- May require a valid driver’s license
- Compliance with District skill/competency requirements
- May require a valid First Aid/CPR card
- NCLB Compliance (48 college units (semester) or pass the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam)
- Proof of HS Graduation (High School Diploma, High School Transcripts or Equivalent (ex: GED))
- Resume (Provide clear evidence of required experience)
- CPR/First Aid Certificate
