About the role

Under the direction of an assigned administrator, assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of special needs students. Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and implementation of individual education plans. Provide routine clerical support. Generally, provides service to students in Special Day Class Programs, CBI classrooms, or to students with Moderate/Severe special education needs.

Requirements

• Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting; or any combination of training and experience that could provide the desired knowledge and abilities.
• Licenses: Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
• ESSA Compliance: Degree or completion of 48 semester units from an accredited college or university, or district assessment/county certificate showing compliance; proof required.
• Selection Process: Competitive application screening for completeness, qualifications, and experience; application evaluation weighted 10% and oral interview exam weighted 90%; passing score required on each portion to be placed on eligibility list; final interviews for specific vacancies scheduled from the approved eligibility list.

Pay

CSEA Salary Range 125: Step A $27.47, Step B $28.86, Step C $30.32, Step D $31.85, Step E $33.47, Step F $35.16.

Schedule

3.5 to 6 hours per day, 10 months per year (approximately 182 days).
