Responsibilities
- Teach courses using an approved course outline to meet approved course competencies and learning outcomes in accordance with regulatory agencies
- Demonstrate knowledge of course content in areas of Medical Assisting and CPR
- Clearly communicate coursework expectations to students
- Implement effective teaching techniques in the learning environment that are engaging and student-focused
- Utilize instructional technology in the classroom
- Demonstrate professional commitment to the program
- Aid students with accessing appropriate resources when needed
- Work with healthcare facilities to coordinate clinical instruction and in-person visits to externship sites to evaluate students
- Aid in job placement follow-up with past graduates in cooperation with the Career Coach
- Prepare for and participate in marketing efforts for healthcare programs including off-campus events and orientation sessions
- Aid in student retention efforts and certificate completion
- Substitute for other instructors in medical assisting program if needed
Qualifications
- Industry credential required: RN/LPN/CMA (AAMA) (NHA) or RMA (AMT)
- Significant work experience in a medical office with both clinical and administrative responsibilities in the last 7 years
- Working knowledge of Phlebotomy/EKG competencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to working with a diverse student population
- Experience using a variety of computer software programs and ability to learn new ones, particularly related to online instruction
- Prior teaching experience in a college or similar environment
- Familiarity with instructional technology and course management systems
- AHA instructor certification in BLS and Heartsaver
Benefits
Full-Time, 12-month Classified position with full state benefits package.
Pay
$55,000 - $65,000
Schedule
Combination of Day and Evening classes (at least one evening CCMA class per term)
