About the role
The Trainer and Instructor II coordinates and implements New Employee Orientation (NEO) programming, ensuring compliance with mandatory DBHDS and COV training requirements. This role also oversees CCCA's Therapeutic Options, UKERU, DEFUSE, and First Aid/CPR training programs, including maintaining active trainers, updating curriculums, scheduling classes, and managing training records.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate implementation of New Employee Orientation (NEO), ensuring topics and materials comply with DBHDS and COV requirements.
- Maintain a master NEO binder with up-to-date materials and ensure all NEOs are scheduled with stakeholders notified at least one week in advance.
- Coordinate with presenters to ensure adequate and appropriate training, substituting as needed for regular presenters.
- Collect and maintain records to document attendance and understanding of training material.
- Fully implement CCCA’s Therapeutic Options, UKERU, DEFUSE, and First Aid/CPR training programs, including:
- Maintaining a minimum of 5 active trainers for each program.
- Ensuring curriculums are current and compliant.
- Scheduling and facilitating classes.
- Maintaining proper training records.
- Serve as a primary trainer for Therapeutic Options and First Aid/CPR programs, ensuring equal opportunity and responsibility for all trainers.
- Develop curriculum for required training topics, possibly with committee assistance.
- Identify, recruit, and train additional trainers as necessary.
- Coordinate, publicize, and facilitate training schedules to ensure appropriate distribution of training information.
- Maintain records of attendance and proficiency, communicating them as needed.
- Facilitate 1:1 or small group staff professional development training as needed.
Requirements
- Excellent planning, organization, and coordination skills.
- Superior presentation and teaching skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and creative abilities to design and implement training programs that improve employee performance and job satisfaction.
- Ability to communicate and interact with people at all levels of the organization and other stakeholders.
- Excellent computer skills, especially in PowerPoint, Publisher, Word, and Excel, with willingness to learn new applications.
- Ability to achieve CPR/First Aid, Therapeutic Options, DEFUSE Trainer Certifications, and other necessary certifications.
Qualifications
- Experience in mental health or related field with emphasis on education and staff development preferred.
