Paraeducator - General Education
About the Role
This is a continuing contract position following the 189-day KAP calendar. The schedule is based on 2 hours per day, though daily schedules may vary based on student days.
Requirements
Prior to starting, candidates must meet minimum employment requirements for paraeducators in Washington State through one of the following:
- Associate (AA) degree or higher from an accredited institution
- 72 college-level credits from an accredited institution
- A score of 455 or higher on the ETS ParaPro Assessment and proof of high school completion or equivalent
If you do not yet meet these qualifications and are willing to take the ParaPro Assessment, you can still apply. Finalist candidates will have the opportunity to take the test prior to formal hire.
Post-Hire Requirements
Upon hire, paraeducators must complete state-required training offered through the KSD Professional Development Team.
Pay
- Hourly range: $29.43 – $36.18
- Salary schedule: KAP Salary Schedule
- Step placement based on verified years of experience in an educational unit
- Salary is annualized and spread through August
