General Education Para Educator
School District 49 is seeking a General Education Para Educator at Odyssey Elementary School. This position is Title I funded for the 2026-27 school year and is currently considered a one-year position unless Title funds are approved for the following year.
About the role
This is a full-time, school-year position at a Title I funded elementary school. The successful candidate will support classroom instruction under the supervision of the school principal.
Requirements
- Must currently possess and be able to provide transcripts or test scores for one of the following:
- 48 college credit hours, or
- An Associate’s Degree, or
- Passing score on a formal state or local academic assessment (e.g., ACT-WorkKeys or ETS-ParaPro)
- Applicants who do not meet these qualifications at the time of hire will have until the end of the 2026-27 school year to fulfill them; continued employment may be affected if requirements are not met.
Pay
Starting pay ranges from $20.45 to $25.56 per hour, depending on previous relevant experience. The final rate will be determined after reviewing the experience listed on the job application.
