Paraeducator - 1:1 Resource Room: Special Education (2026-27)
About the role
The Paraeducator (Resource Room and Program Support) position is responsible for providing support services to students with Specific Learning Disabilities, health impairments, and mild social/emotional behavioral deficits. This role also includes assisting in the Resource Room where specially designed instruction is provided to help students succeed in general education settings.
Responsibilities
- Support students with special needs in general education classrooms
- Provide specially designed instruction to enhance learning outcomes
- Assist in the Resource Room setting
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License
- Passing score on a background check
- First Aid and CPR certification
Skills
- Knowledge of Special Education and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
