About the role

The Paraeducator (Special Education) position is designed to support students with special educational needs in a variety of settings within Everett Public Schools. This role also includes the Paraeducator- Behavior Support position.

Responsibilities

  • Support students with special education needs in academic and social settings.
  • Assist teachers in classroom management and instructional activities.
  • Provide behavioral support to students as needed.
  • Participate in the Extended Resource Program for students with mild to moderate delays in general intellectual functioning.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of special education principles and practices.

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

Salary schedule: 6.5 hours per day, 195 days per year.
