About the Role
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups of severely handicapped students in a classroom; monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; assist students in developing various self-help, social and community skills.

Requirements
- Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and some experience in working with children or individuals with disabilities.
- This position requires the SCOE Para Proficiency Test certificate. The following can be substituted for the SCOE Para Proficiency Test:
- NCLB/ESSA Test certificate from Stanislaus County
- CBEST
- Transcripts showing a minimum of 48 college units or the date an AA Degree or higher-level degree was awarded (transcripts can be unofficial).
- PLEASE ATTACH A COPY OF THE REQUIRED CERTIFICATE/TRANSCRIPT TO YOUR APPLICATION.
The following are NOT required at the time of application but will be required if offered employment:
- DOJ Fingerprint clearance
- TB Clearance

Benefits
A Benefit Entitlement for health, dental, and vision coverage is available for positions that are at least 4 hours per day. The amount of the entitlement is based on the number of hours worked per day.
Pay
Pay Range: $22.40 - $27.44 per hour. Initial salary placement is restricted to a maximum of Step 3 ($24.95) for external candidates. Range 7, CSEA Classified Regular Salary Schedule.
