About the role

This position is only available to current employees of the Stanislaus County Office of Education. Applications submitted by job seekers not currently employed by the school district will not be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups of severely handicapped students in a classroom.
• Monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance.
• Aid students in developing various self-help, social and community skills.

Requirements

• Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and some experience in working with children or individuals with disabilities.
• This position requires the SCOE Para Proficiency Test certificate. The following can be substituted for the SCOE Para Proficiency Test: NCLB/ESSA Test certificate from Stanislaus County, CBEST, or transcripts showing minimum of 48 college units or date AA Degree or higher level degree was awarded (transcripts can be unofficial).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Benefits

A Benefit Entitlement for health, dental and vision coverage is available for positions that are at least 4 hours per day. The amount of the entitlement is based on the number of hours worked per day.
