Panel of Assessors

About the role

CORU is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals to join the Panel of Assessors for the following Registration Boards:

• Optical Registration Board (Dispensing opticians and Optometrists)
• Speech and Language Therapists Registration Board

Assessors will evaluate applications and make recommendations to the Board on:

• Applications made under Transition Arrangements
• Qualifications for applications under transitional arrangements
• Assessments of Professional Competence for applicants under transitional arrangements
• Recognition of International Qualifications applications
• Completed Period of Adaptation reports
• Aptitude Tests
• Returners to Practice
• Restoration to the register

Full training will be provided.

Requirements

Academic assessors should have:

• A minimum of five years’ professional experience in delivering and evaluating academic training courses in the relevant profession
• Additional assessment experience (desirable)

Candidates with less than five years’ experience may be considered based on demonstrated skills and experience.

Professional practitioners should have:

• A minimum of four years' professional experience in the profession
• Additional assessment experience (desirable)

Candidates with less than four years’ experience may be considered based on demonstrated skills and experience.
