Palauan Interpreter

About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Palauan-English Phone Interpreter to work remotely from your home. This is an independent contractor position and not eligible for employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally
• Render accurate concepts and meanings according to established protocols
• Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation and enunciation
• Maintain a professional demeanor throughout interpreting sessions
• Stay calm and neutral during emotionally charged calls
• Follow client instructions and comply with protocol
• Understand and adapt to various industries' terminology and procedures
• Show cultural sensitivity and work in a diverse environment

Qualifications

• Fluency in Palauan and English
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills
• Cultural competency and regional accent awareness
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred
• Ability to adapt to LLS technology enhancements
• At least 18 years old
• Licensed to work in the United States
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and write requested languages preferred

• Dedicated personal device for business purposes

• No restricted brand devices
• High-speed internet connection with minimum speeds of 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, 300 ms ping, and 30 ms jitter
• Quiet workspace free from background noise or distractions

Physical Requirements

• Able to operate a keyboard and mouse for most of the workday
• Sufficient manual dexterity for typing or writing
• Able to lift up to 26 lbs
• May be exposed to moderate noise levels
