About the role
The PAL Specialist II is responsible for assisting the PAL Management/Supervisory Staff with general clerical/office duties, special events, and the development of PAL Sports programs. This position organizes, implements, and manages a specific PAL Sports Program. Responsibilities include loading and unloading office supplies and sports equipment, computerized data entry, processing, filing, and maintaining program-related documents. The role also requires the ability to safely tow PAL trailers when needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist coaches, parents, and juveniles with application forms both online and in person
- Act as a liaison with community leaders
- Receive, route, and disperse telephone calls/messages
- Complete and submit season-ending reports
- Plan and execute specific PAL Sports Programs
- Coordinate sport requirements
- Plan and implement structured PAL youth summer programs
- Support PAL youth activities/events
- Document and submit youth participant attendance forms
- Coordinate online and site registrations
- Disseminate PAL literature/information
- Refer youth participants to other PAL programs
- Assist with PAL-related grants
- Display knowledge of rules and regulations regarding sports
- Provide referrals to various social services agencies regarding juveniles
- Provide counseling for youth in the PAL program
- Load and unload equipment
- Maintain inventory of uniforms and equipment
- Ensure office is open and secure
- Participate in agency-sponsored youth programs
- Maintain CPR certification
- Operate audio/visual equipment
- Safely and effectively tow PAL trailers on all roadways
- Assist in keeping the PAL website and social media current and relevant
- Perform concession stand duties
- Maintain PAL Sports Program data and records in accordance with appropriate retention regulations
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalency
- Valid Florida Driver’s License
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
- 2 years prior coaching experience and/or position held within a recreational sports association
- Prior athletic experience
