About the role

Drywall Tapers perform tasks related to finishing drywall on the construction site. This position works closely with other tradespeople including carpenters and laborers.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare surfaces
• Mix gypsum joint compound ingredients to desired consistency
• Apply, level, and smooth coats of joint compound
• Tape over joints
• Finish corners and angles
• Measure, cut, and install metal corner beads
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks
• Sand seams and joints
• Create decorative designs in the finish coat
• Mold and install ornamental fixtures
• Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings
