Responsibilities

  • Apply primers and paints to mechanical parts using paint spray guns and a variety of hand tools.
  • Prepare parts for painting by cleaning, sanding, or other appropriate means to ensure paint adhesion. Mask areas as needed.
  • Mix paints and additives or thinners in specified ratios.
  • Inspect product for uniformity, ensure painted parts conform to all specifications and requirements.
  • Touch up paint as needed.
  • Ensure paint and additives are in-date and that all measurement tools are calibrated.
  • Operate cranes, forklifts, and/or hand tools to hang and manipulate heavy parts.
  • Maintain paint booth, conveyor system, and spray equipment; replace filters as needed.
  • Break down, clean, and reassemble paint guns.
  • Maintain daily records and logbooks as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to a culture of safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years’ related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Good work ethic with the ability to work in a physically demanding atmosphere
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, instructions, and specifications
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to climb, squat, and stand for prolonged periods of time
