Paint Shop Technician 1

About the role

SAIC has an opening for an entry level Paint Shop Technician in Indianapolis, IN. This position is 2nd shift, 3:00 PM EST to 11:30 PM EST, full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Perform sanding, cleaning, masking, and other tasks related to the preparation and completion of industrial parts for military coating finishes.
• Work as a team and individually towards a common goal with clear communication.
• Follow standard and common shop processes to perform work tasks, and be able to ‘adapt and overcome’ when appropriate.
• Follow ISO 9000 and AS 9100 standard processes and procedures.
• Perform job tracking, data entry, and paperwork as deemed necessary.
• Adapt to fluid project scheduling and demands; tasking may deviate when necessary.
• Follow corporate and local office policies and procedures, including daily timecard recording and email checks.

Requirements

U.S. citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance; new hires must submit background information for clearance evaluation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience performing sanding, blending, cleaning, masking, or other tasks related to the preparation and completion of industrial parts for paint finishes is a plus.
• Experience as a technician in a manufacturing/industrial/shop environment is also accepted.

Skills

• Basic computer skills (logging in, email, timecard entry, job tracking, etc.).

Schedule

Full‑time, evening shift (2nd shift) from 3:00 PM EST to 11:30 PM EST, Monday‑Friday, 40 hour work week (8 hours per day).
