Paid Voice Acting & Improv Work (Raleigh, NC)
About the role
HumanSignal recruits improv performers, voice actors, and live entertainers for on‑camera recording sessions that train consumer AI devices to understand natural human behavior. Sessions involve performing unscripted, improv‑style scenarios of everyday household activities (cooking, tidying, folding laundry, etc.) while interacting conversationally with a voice assistant. The work is temporary/recurring gig work, with shifts available all summer through November 2026.
Responsibilities
- Perform unscripted, improv‑style scenarios of everyday household activities in a staged home environment.
- Interact conversationally with a voice assistant while working through each scenario.
- Maintain natural, spontaneous dialogue throughout the session.
- Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and be reliable.
Requirements
- Age 18 or older.
- Located in or near Raleigh, NC (virtual screening, local studios, or short travel may be required; expenses paid upfront).
- Improv training or performance experience at any level (classes, student troupes, community theatre, open mics, voice work, live entertainment). Aspiring and amateur performers are encouraged.
- Comfortable being recorded on camera and audio for a full session.
- Reliable and able to arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
Skills
- Improvisation and character work.
- Comfort performing without a script.
- Ability to think on your feet and move/talk naturally.
Pay
$50 per hour, typically in 4‑hour sessions ($200 per session). Rates are flexible upward for performers with significant improv, voice, or stage experience.
Schedule
Temporary/recurring gig work; shifts available all summer, with availability ASAP through November 2026. Weekday, evening, and weekend slots are offered.
Benefits
- Referral bonus: $100 for each performer you refer who successfully completes a session (no limit on referrals).
