The New York Post's Page Six Digital is seeking a Social Media Editor to join our dynamic team. As a key member of the social media department, you'll be responsible for creating engaging content and maintaining a robust presence across various platforms.
Job Responsibilities
- Create high-impact social graphics and publish content for Page Six social media accounts.
- Film, edit, and produce video content for social distribution.
- Pitch and execute timely, niche, newsworthy, and trending content ideas.
- Engage with audiences across Page Six social channels, including moderating comments and facilitating meaningful interactions.
- Turn around breaking news graphics quickly without sacrificing quality.
- Organize and maintain design files and templates for team use.
- Manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Experience in content creation, including the development of engaging multimedia content across digital platforms.
- Proficiency in video and photo editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, CapCut, and Canva.
- Strong news judgment, passion for pop culture and internet trends, with excellent writing and copy-editing skills, ensuring accuracy and clarity in all published content.
- To stay updated on social media trends, best practices, and emerging platforms, and adapt strategies to optimize audience engagement.
- Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts with large followings, emphasizing audience growth and engagement through thoughtful and timely content.
- Exceptional multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize effectively and perform well under tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
- A genuine passion for celebrity news, pop culture, and reality TV, along with a strong understanding of the personalities, trends, and cultural moments that drive daily conversation.
- Must be flexible around weekend and holiday work.
Note: This role is on-site five days per week in our California newsroom. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 12pm-8pm PST/3-11pm EST. Equal Opportunity Employer.
