About the Role

Under the direction of the Production Manager, the Packing Supervisor organizes packing and additive personnel and oversees all parts of the packing process. Responsibilities include staffing, training, and coordinating all aspects of the packing department to ensure prompt and adequate packing of product while maintaining equipment and machinery in accurate working conditions. The role supports departmental safety goals, environmental ISO-14000 standards, and corporate mandates.

Responsibilities

• Control and ensure the packing of 50 lb. and retail bags.
• Control and ensure the packing of Hopper Cars.
• Ensure the quality of the product (flour) during packing.
• Supervise the addition of additives to the flour.
• Oversee the reprocess of flour and interchange.
• Ensure all packing and additive reports are filled out correctly.
• Verify that all employees have their required safety equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness in the packing and additive areas.
• Know and apply Food Safety Policy principles in all work-related activities.
• Apply Quality and Food Safety principles to ensure safety objectives are met.
• Support the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the Food Safety Management System.
• Apply Environmental Policy principles and follow Environmental Management System (EMS) guidelines to avoid significant environmental impacts.
• Understand and apply EMS documents relevant to the role to achieve environmental protection and compliance with legal requirements.
• Perform additional duties as outlined in the Departmental Matrix and other responsibilities related to the local packing area.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Manufacturing, or a related agricultural field.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• HACCP and other safety certifications are a plus.
