Packaging Operator- Variable Shift

About the role

The Krusteaz Company is seeking Variable Shift Packaging Operators to join our Manhattan team. This position operates, monitors, and troubleshoots packaging equipment, performs routine maintenance, and supports processes from production to final shipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot packaging equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and follow production/quality processes.
• Hand sort, case pack, pallet stack, and replenish supplies.
• Inspect materials, ingredients, and finished products.
• Execute daily and monthly cleaning tasks per regulations.
• Maintain compliance with process quality, food safety, and general safety programs.
• Learn new methods and assist in training as needed.

Requirements

• Communicate effectively in English with team members and supervisors.
• Read and interpret safety and operational instructions.
• Work collaboratively to meet production goals.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work environments.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and equipment operation.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Previous food processing experience is a plus.
• Ability to work first or second shift and overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
• Good manual dexterity.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
• Ability to push and pull heavy cleaning equipment and carts.

Pay and Hours

• $20.77 per hour.
• $1.25 per hour shift differential for 2nd shift.
• Variable 2nd shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, with possible overtime.
• This position rotates to 1st shift hours (6:30AM-3:00PM) about 25% of the time, based on production needs.
• Up to 7% quarterly bonus incentive pay.
