PACKAGING OPERATOR - Multiple Shifts Available

About the role

Lifeway Foods, a leading producer of probiotic beverages and dairy products, seeks a Packaging Operator to join their team. This position operates and maintains packaging machinery, ensuring efficient and high-quality production.

Responsibilities

• Follow procedures to operate and clean sleeving and packaging machines
• Ensure sleeves are correctly applied to bottles and that there are no backups
• Put away sleeves when necessary
• Verify that date codes are accurate for each day's production
• Communicate any issues with machine status or bottle quality to supervisors or Plant Managers
• Assist in unloading and loading trailers
• Refill empty cap totes
• Perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on machines
• Report to workstation on time, wear appropriate attire, and set up the work area
• Relieve other Machine Operators during machine downtime or job reassignments
• Conduct duties according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Sanitization Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP)

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Three to six months related experience or three to six months of related experience
• Basic mathematical skills and understanding of algebra and geometry
• Knowledge of Manufacturing Software, Inventory Software, and Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand for an entire 8-hour shift, climb ladders, and maneuver through equipment
