Production/Packaging Operator - Multiple Shifts

About the role
The packaging operator is required to perform two functions: the bagging operation and the baler operation. The packaging operator must maintain the ability to perform both bagging and baler functions as determined by the Shift Leads.
Responsibilities
- Operate machinery in a productive manner using the established safety guidelines and procedures.
- Responsible for assisting other production areas, as needed.
- Move and wrap completed products.
- Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for a minimum of 7 hours per day.
- Assist the Shift Leads to start and stop the pellet mills.
- Communicate any moisture or material problems to Shift Lead.
- Maintain a clean workstation.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Bagging Operation
- Operate a variety of machinery, primarily bagging and baler machines, shrink wrapping machines, forklifts, pallet jack, and bag sealer.
- Stack bags on pallets, put covers on pallets, and place finished goods in the correct warehouse location.
- Accurately complete the Bagger production report.
- Fill pellet sample cups every ton for quality control information.
- Tag pallets with Quality Control tag including initials, date, ton number, and the shift the pallet was completed.
The Baler Operation
- Stack bales on pallets, seal bales with an iron, and wrap pallets.
- Accurately complete the Baler Operator production report.
- Check bale weight and record information on various reports and quality control tags.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior forklift and production line experience preferred.
- Good eye, hand, and foot coordination.
- Pass the company forklift training.
- Read and interpret scales.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to adjust the weight and timing of baler and perform other simple maintenance.
- Ability to do simple math calculations.

Pay
$14.50–$15.50/hour
Schedule
3/4-4/3 schedule, 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM OR 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, working Saturdays with 1 full weekend on and 1 full weekend off per month.
