Packaging Operator

Responsibilities

• Maintains safe work practices at all times and participates in safety programs.
• Operates, maintains, monitors, and adjusts packaging equipment from freezer exit through cased goods.
• Maintains proper container sizing and ensures complete package quality by checking weights, seals, codes, glue patterns, etc.
• Troubleshoots equipment operation and identifies mechanical and electrical issues.
• Breaks relief for other employees as needed and provides direction to packaging laborers.
• Handles bulk activities, hand stacks, and reworks product in an expeditious manner.
• Completes CIL’s, Centerlines, and Defect Handling Standard Work.

Requirements

• Good communication skills (oral and written).
• Able to climb stairs and ladders.
• Able to stand for long periods at a time.
• Manual dexterity and ability to safely use cleaning equipment.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Able to work in adverse conditions (extreme cold and heat, extreme wet, within closed surroundings).

• High school diploma or GED.

Pay

The pay rate for this role is approximately $22.68 per hour.
