Description Summary: Assemble, disassemble, troubleshoot, and adjust machines that dispense and package dietary supplemental powders to meet product and industry specification in an efficient manner. 2nd Shift - Monday-Thursday (3:45pm-2:15am)
Responsibilities
- Ensure the quality and safety of the product will include, but not be limited to:
- Set up the machine to run at maximum efficiency while meeting customer and quality specifications.
- Make adjustments to the machine to ensure that all jars, bottles, pouches or stick packs are the correct weight.
- Troubleshoot the machine to eliminate in-process errors.
- Clean all areas and equipment to be used.
- Assemble/disassemble equipment according to established procedures.
- Complete appropriate logbooks, pre-process and in-process documentation and clearance checks.
- Verify that all necessary materials are correct, present, released, and within the expiration period.
- Weigh materials and record all necessary dispensing information in master records.
- Record the total number of units packaged during the production process.
- Work with the Department Lead and the packers to adjust and accommodate variations in staffing.
- Assure that all scrap has been properly weighted and recorded on the batch loss tracking page.
- Turn in process documentation and samples to Department Head.
- Assure that products leaving the department are stored in the proper areas.
- Maintain a clear understanding of the company GMPs.
- Follow all safety policies and ensure work environment is free of safety hazards.
Requirements
- Mathematical Skills – Accuracy with arithmetic and subtraction.
- Language Skills – Must be able to follow detailed written instructions.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Ability to read and write basic English.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Skilled in operation, control monitoring, and troubleshooting equipment, quality and processes.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, problem sensitivity and information ordering skills.
- Knowledge of food production processing.
Physical Demands
- Must regularly lift 35 lbs., occasionally move up to 100 lbs. using pallet jacks.
- Must be able to stand for 10 hour shifts, regularly required to walk, and pull.
- Specific sensing abilities required by this job include near vision, hearing, and manual dexterity.
