About the role
We're seeking an experienced Packaging Machine Assembler to join our team in Huntington, IN. This advanced role involves building conveyor systems and equipment based on engineering specifications, often working independently. You'll also take on leadership responsibilities, guiding projects and supporting other team members.
Responsibilities
- Assemble conveyor systems and components using engineering drawings and work instructions
- Work on a variety of builds, from individual components to fully integrated systems
- Perform basic wiring using electrical schematics
- Identify and troubleshoot issues, suggesting improvements when necessary
- Help ensure projects stay on schedule, within budget, and meet ProMach quality standards
- Train and mentor other team members
- Partner with Engineering on prototype builds and testing
- Promote continuous improvement and share ideas to improve processes
- Follow all safety standards and help maintain a safe work environment
- Assist in other departments as needed
- Occasional travel for installations or service calls
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Technical training or 2-3 years related maintenance or automation experience
- Ability to read blueprints, instructions, and schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and lead small teams when needed
- Reliable, motivated, and team-oriented
- Ability to work overtime as required
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and work overhead
- Ability to regularly lift 10 pounds, frequently lift 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Safety shoes and safety glasses are required
- Reimbursement for shoes and prescription glasses is available
