Job Summary
The Machine Assembly Specialist is a key contributor on the EPS production floor, responsible for building the custom-engineered printing machines our customers depend on worldwide. Working from detailed assembly prints, engineering drawings, and specifications, you will fit and assemble complex electrical and mechanical components into finished systems — working both independently and as part of a collaborative production team. This role is central to our mission of delivering precision-crafted machines that exceed customer expectations.Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Analyze assembly drawings, work orders, and engineering memos to plan and sequence machine building operations
- Align and assemble mechanical and electrical components manually or with hoist equipment, using hand tools and pneumatic tools
- Verify conformance of parts to bill of materials and engineering prints using precision instruments (calipers, gauges, micrometers)
- Form and fasten piping, fixtures, motors, sensors, power supplies, and attachments for air and electrical service
- Install wiring and electrical components per specifications to build complete, functional electrical panels
- Set up and operate metal-working machines to shape and prepare parts as needed
- Maintain accurate and complete production records in support of quality and traceability standards
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Sales, and Customer-facing teams to ensure on-time, on-spec delivery
Requirements – Knowledge, Skills & Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training strongly preferred
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in a machining and assembly environment
- Working knowledge of electrical controls, fixturing, and machine assembly methods
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics
- Extensive knowledge of electrical part naming conventions
- Proficiency with measurement devices, power tools, and assembly equipment
- Strong commitment to Good Manufacturing Practices and workflow discipline
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; able to follow and relay instructions with accuracy
- Able to lift up to 70 lbs occasionally; role requires standing, walking, reaching, and bending
- Comfortable using a computer for production inquiries and documentation
