Pack Out Operator - 3rd Shift

About the role

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Pack Out Operator will be responsible for the process of packaging peanuts for shipment alongside other team members of the Pack Out team. This role is performed on-site at a facility that regularly processes peanuts. Employees will routinely work in areas where peanuts and related allergens are present and may be exposed by contact or through the air. Reasonable accommodation may be available to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential functions of the role.

Responsibilities

• Transfer peanut sizing cuts from the product bins to the packaging station.
• Stage packaging material at the bagging system and load the system with a pallet, slip sheet, and hang a tote for filling.
• Program the applicable lot number and start the tote filling sequence.
• Place proper USDA tags on totes to ensure Positive Lot Identification (PLI).
• Monitor the check weights on the scale system printout.
• Perform metal detector checks on CCP#1 (HACCP) every 2 hours and perform magnet checks twice per shift.
• Monitor the condition of packaging material being used and apply correct packaging as specified.
• Maintain the master sanitation schedule for the area.
• Understand and follow ofi Peanut Shelling safety policies, work safely, and report any safety hazards or unsafe conditions to the Plant Manager or Safety Coordinator.
• Follow ofi Peanut Shelling Company Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
• Adhere to all ofi Peanut Shelling Company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Preventive Control Rules, and Occupational Safety Rules.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility or similar relevant experience preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Physical dexterity.
• Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary).
• Forklift experience preferred.
