About the role

HDR is seeking a Power Market Sector Leader to oversee and guide the expansion of HDR’s Power program in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, and Delaware. HDR is ranked among the top 20 firms by Engineering News Record for Power projects.

Responsibilities

  • Grow, monitor, and execute HDR’s Power services portfolio in the specified regions.
  • Partner with local and regional business development leaders to align with market trends and develop strategies for diversifying work and strengthening client relationships.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to deliver a variety of services such as design, consulting, advisory services, owners engineering, asset management, due diligence, and planning.
  • Establish and maintain effective external teaming relationships to support program growth, including relationships with industry counterparts and involvement in industry associations.
  • Lead and manage projects to ensure they have the necessary staff and are completed to high standards.
  • Provide leadership and project management to support client management, project management, and technical support activities.
  • Coordinate with local operations, section managers, and business group leadership to facilitate work sharing and resource allocation.
  • Recruit and hire staff to support and implement business development and marketing plans.
  • Drive client growth both locally and regionally, including managing and motivating the staff to meet growth goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering, planning, or related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of industry experience.
  • Experience in developing and managing strategic marketing programs for planning and/or engineering services.
  • Experience in developing and managing a wide range of client relationships and pursuing specific program and/or project opportunities.
  • Experience in staff development, including recruiting, career path development, and professional growth.
  • Experience with industry associations and maintaining a visible presence in the market sector.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with regional market sector directors, market sector directors, business class directors, regional business group directors, area business group managers, area marketing managers, and area managers.
  • Demonstrated commitment to HDR values and an active participation in the employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

  • PE license or industry equivalent.
  • PMP Certification.
