About the role

The P&O Business Partner works with the Factory and Technical Directors and their Leadership Teams, supporting local people strategy creation and execution, leading change initiatives, and driving the talent agenda and engagement at a strategic level. The Business Partner ensures day-to-day operational work is completed via MyP&O and two-way communication with Centers of Excellence (COEs). They co-design and co-implement the Mars Associate Experience as guardian of the Five Principles, signature processes, and governance procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field (minimum qualification)
  • Master’s or Post Graduate Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field (preferred qualification)
  • 5+ years of progressive P&O/HR experience
  • 3+ years of manufacturing setting experience (preferred)
  • Solid knowledge of US labor regulations and their application in solving business needs; ability to provide guidance
  • Effective in building relationships at all levels
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills with a data-driven mindset
  • Good business acumen and consulting skills; ability to influence decisions for positive business outcomes
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize based on business needs, and work effectively in a regional role (minimum 3 days a week on-site)

Responsibilities

  • Business Leadership: Partner with Operations business leaders to align goals with the people agenda, provide thought leadership, and ensure associate advocacy. Collaborate with multiple site Leadership Teams using highly functional ways of working.
  • Talent & Organizational Health: Drive a talent pipeline and strategy supporting growth, Associate development, and engagement. Monitor organizational health and develop OD interventions to strengthen high-performing culture. Coach Line Managers to develop Associates, improve engagement, and enhance team wellbeing.
  • Unit Effectiveness: Manage or deliver unit-specific projects to drive change and transformation. Embed Mars signature people programs and the Essence of Mars. Communicate emerging needs to COEs. Partner with the P&O Head and team to establish and achieve short- and long-term goals for business success.
  • Enabling Operations: Guide, support, and position the MyP&O team and Line Managers to effectively support Associates. Ensure efficiency with Talent Acquisition and Associate Relations teams. Problem-solve escalations within the P&O model to drive resolution.
