P&D Driver

About the role

As a P&D Driver, you pick up, transport, and deliver freight locally. You will be the face of Southeastern Freight Lines, serving our customers on a regular basis. As a tractor-trailer operator, you will drive in various conditions and handle vehicle operations such as coupling and uncoupling, connecting lines, and adjusting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle inspections
• Manage the loading and unloading of cargo
• Ensure the accuracy and compliance of transport documents, especially when handling hazardous materials
• Skillfully maneuver in challenging environments like heavy traffic and tight spaces
• Report any incidents or delays
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies
• Maintain a focus on excellent customer service and professionalism

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months driving experience (1 year preferred)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with endorsements for HAZMAT, Tanker, and Twin Trailers
• No automatic restrictions on CDL
• At least 21 years old
• Ability to read, comprehend, and write in English
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
• Ability to handle receipts, read maps and road signs, and maintain driving logs
• Detailed knowledge of and ability to comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, regulations, and guidelines, including those governing safe driving, hours of service, vehicle inspections, and the transportation of hazardous materials
• Meet DOT physical qualifications
• Pass alcohol and drug tests

Pay

$94,731-$103,332 Annually (Average annual pay may vary based on experience, hours, and location)
