Overnight Veterinary Assistant

Responsibilities

• Aid in the nursing care of hospitalized patients in compliance with hospital standards and values.
• Accurately perform physical assessments, including heart rate, pulse rate, CRT, mucous membrane color, temperature, respiratory rate, and respiratory effort.
• Understand and recognize common medication classifications, side effects, and therapeutic responses.
• Administer medications according to the directions of a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT).
• Execute diagnostic procedures, such as digital radiography and sample collection and processing.
• Stay updated on R.E.C.O.V.E.R. CPR guidelines and demonstrate proficiency in assigned roles.
• Interact with clients by assisting with patient triage, reviewing estimates, and providing discharge instructions.
• Stock, clean, and maintain emergency, ICU, and other designated hospital areas to ensure a safe and organized environment.

Requirements

• Prior veterinary assistant experience required.
• Current certification in CPR for Healthcare Providers.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including overnight shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Pay

• $23.60 - $32.80 per hour.

Schedule

• 3x12 or 4x10 shift patterns.
