Overnight Residential Counselor

About the role

As an Overnight Residential Counselor, you will bring an energetic and positive approach to working with students at Glenhaven Academy. Glenhaven is a residential treatment setting specializing in trauma-informed care, offering comprehensive 24-hour care including a school on-site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and direct care staff.

Responsibilities

• Support students in developing and practicing effective coping strategies.
• Help students discover what makes them feel competent and valued through various life skills training.
• Provide a safe and therapeutic community for students.
• Work evenings, holidays, and weekends as required.
• Ensure safety and wellbeing of students during overnight shifts.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Available to work evenings, holidays, and weekends as required.
• Valid driver’s license is preferred but not required.
• Must remain awake throughout overnight shifts to ensure student safety.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a passion for social justice and a desire to make a difference in the lives of students. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required. Training will be provided by JRI to ensure you can create a safe and therapeutic community.

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations.
• Experience working with adolescents and trauma-informed care.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $25.00 per hour. The actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, licensure, certifications, and qualifications.

Schedule

Schedules are available Sunday - Wednesday from 10:45 PM - 8:45 AM or Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:45 PM - 8:45 AM.
