About the role

As an Overnight Residential Counselor at Pelham Academy, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing comprehensive care and support to adolescents through trauma-informed care. You will work in a residential treatment setting with a school on-site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and direct care staff.

Responsibilities

  • Convey your passion for helping others with an energetic and positive approach
  • Support students in developing and practicing effective coping strategies
  • Work with students to develop life skills such as cooking, banking, vocational skills, and more
  • Provide a safe and therapeutic community for students
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students during overnight shifts
  • Transport students as required
  • Be available to work holidays and weekend shifts
  • Provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to maintain a safe therapeutic atmosphere

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Available to work holidays and weekend shifts
  • Pass background and driving record checks

Qualifications

While not specified, candidates should have a strong background in counseling or related fields, along with the ability to work with adolescents and provide trauma-informed care. Experience with physical interventions and verbal de-escalation techniques is preferred.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $25.00 per hour. The actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, licensure, certifications, and qualifications.

Schedule

Schedules being offered: 10:45pm-8:45am with one weekend shift.
