Overnight Residential Counselor
Are you the Overnight Residential Counselor we have been looking for? In this position, you will convey your passion for helping others with a dynamic team by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with youth that we serve. Cohannet Academy is an Intensive Residential Treatment Program for adolescents that specializes in trauma-informed care. Cohannet provides 24-hour comprehensive care including a school on site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and direct care staff.
Schedule
Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday 11:00PM - 7:00AM with Monday, Tuesday, and Friday off.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $25.00 per hour. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications, and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future. Due to the nature of our work and the youth who are depending on us, overtime may be mandated.
Responsibilities
- Create a safe and therapeutic community by supporting youth in developing and role-modeling effective coping strategies.
- Help youth discover what makes them feel competent and valued by working with them to develop life skills such as cooking, banking, vocational skills, and more.
- Support youth in developing a sense of self and provide them the skills to be successful in their next steps.
- Provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to ensure the safest therapeutic atmosphere for youth.
- Remain awake throughout the overnight shift to ensure the safety and well-being of youth.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license, as transporting youth is required.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age.
- COVID-19 vaccination required.
- Available to work evenings, holidays, and weekend shifts as required.
- Background and driving record checks will be performed.
