Job Summary
Aids the department manager in achieving sales and profit targets set for the department. Restocks products overnight. Enhances customer confidence and loyalty through consistent and compliant operations. Ensures fresh and appealing products, provides courteous and knowledgeable service.
About the Role
Ensures the department meets plan specifications. Maintains high standards of cleanliness and product availability. Assists customers in locating or recommending products. Supports team members through collaboration and communication.
Responsibilities
- Creates welcoming, valued environments to foster customer confidence and loyalty.
- Maintains merchandise displays according to plan.
- Ensures shelves are stocked with adequate quantities of products.
- Provides customers with product recommendations and assistance.
- Monitors inventory levels and reports discrepancies.
- Inspects products for quality and freshness, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Maintains proper temperatures for perishable goods according to food safety guidelines.
- Executes product recalls and withdrawals promptly, securing and removing affected items from customer access.
- Cultivates a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols, identifying hazards, and reporting incidents.
- Ensures compliance with wage and hour policies and regulations.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: High School/GED preferred.
- Language: English proficiency required, Spanish helpful.
- Experience: Minimum 0-3 years of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge: Customer service skills, strong interpersonal and communication abilities, knowledge of safety regulations and food handling practices.
- Skills: Ability to work independently, handle physical demands, and adhere to health and safety standards.
- Equipment: Familiarity with retail equipment and personal protective gear.
- Physical Demands: Regular standing, walking, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs., occasional heavy lifting (up to 250 lbs.), twisting, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, sitting, pushing, pulling, and working in various environmental conditions.
- Safety Risk Factors: Exposure to noise, chemicals, and hazardous materials; frequent twisting, kneeling, and climbing; occasional exposure to slippery surfaces, sharp objects, and loud noises.
- Travel: Occasional overnight travel.
