About the Overnight Freight Clerk Position

The Overnight Freight Clerk is a key member of the store’s Overnight Freight Team, responsible for receiving, organizing, and stocking merchandise so the store is ready for customers each morning. The role requires accuracy, safety, and attention to detail while working both independently and collaboratively to meet nightly freight goals.

Responsibilities

• Safely unload delivery trucks.
• Move merchandise throughout the store.
• Organize inventory and maintain an orderly backroom.
• Stock shelves and ensure products are accurately placed and displayed.
• Prepare the sales floor for the next business day.
• Work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
• Collaborate with team members to complete nightly freight goals.

Qualifications

• Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and move merchandise throughout the shift.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to safe work practices and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
• Prior experience as a cashier, sales associate, bagger, warehouse worker, or other retail positions is a plus.
• Experience at retail brands such as Target, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Fred Meyer, Safeway, or Albertsons is an asset.

Schedule

This is an overnight position operating outside normal business hours. Team members typically work four 10‑hour overnight shifts per week. Scheduled days and hours may vary by location and business needs, and shift schedules may adjust based on workload and operational requirements.

Pay

USD $17.15 – $19.65 per hour. Pay is issued bi‑weekly or via an on‑demand option.
