About the role

The Cleveland VA Healthcare System is seeking an outstanding physician leader to serve as the Chief of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service (P&LM). Responsibilities

• Provide executive oversight for clinical and anatomic pathology operations
• Oversee laboratory quality management and regulatory compliance
• Manage laboratory managers, quality managers, and section chiefs
• Lead the transfusion medicine, hematology, and microbiology sections
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care

Requirements

• MD or DO degree
• Board certification in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in pathology and laboratory medicine
• Experience in managing large teams and overseeing complex operations
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate a team

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment
• Knowledge of VA policies and procedures
• Experience with VA electronic health record systems
