Outsourced CFO Consultant - Alternative Assets, Fund Accounting

About the role
IQ-EQ is looking for experienced senior financial services executives willing to work 1099-based consulting engagements. You will work independently, self-manage your time, and support outsourced CFO clients. IQ-EQ’s commercial team will source the work and provide billable opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Support a diverse client base, including private equity funds, real estate funds, venture capital funds, hedge funds, and related management companies
- Lead or contribute to engagements such as parental leave coverage for Controllers/CFOs, interim CFO/Controller roles, fund launch consulting/coordination, fund oversight, and CFO/Controller support
- Participate in both short-term and longer-term engagements based on client needs
Qualifications
- 15+ years of private equity and/or hedge fund experience, including in-house leadership as a CFO and/or Controller
- Strong expertise in management company accounting and proficiency with platforms such as NetSuite, Sage, QuickBooks, Stavtar, Bill.com, and similar systems
- Deep experience in fund launches, fund accounting, fund oversight, financial reporting, and regulatory reporting across alternative asset structures
- Senior-level audit and consulting experience; CPA designation preferred
- Proven ability to provide strategic financial leadership in complex fund environments
- Comfortable managing multiple client engagements simultaneously, with strong organizational, communication, and client management skills
