Outsourced CFO Consultant - Alternative Assets, Fund Accounting

About the role
IQ-EQ is looking for experienced senior financial services executives willing to work 1099-based consulting engagements. You will work independently, self-manage your time, and support Outsourced CFO clients. IQ-EQ’s commercial team will source the work and provide billable opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Support a diverse client base, including private equity funds, real estate funds, venture capital funds, hedge funds, and related management companies.
- Lead or contribute to engagements such as parental leave coverage for Controllers/CFOs, Interim CFO/Controller roles, Fund Launch Consulting/Coordination, Fund Oversight, and CFO/Controller Support.
- Participate in both short-term and longer-term engagements based on client needs.
Requirements
- 15+ years of private equity and/or hedge fund experience, including in-house leadership as a CFO and/or Controller.
- Strong expertise in management company accounting and proficiency with platforms such as NetSuite, Sage, QuickBooks, Stavtar, Bill.com, and similar systems.
- Deep experience in fund launches, fund accounting, fund oversight, financial reporting, and regulatory reporting across alternative asset structures.
- Senior-level audit and consulting experience; CPA designation preferred.
- Proven ability to provide strategic financial leadership in complex fund environments.
- Comfortable managing multiple client engagements simultaneously, with strong organizational, communication, and client management skills.
