Sales Overview
A position tasked with finding and developing new sales primarily with local contractors and builders in the Kansas City market. This involves identifying target customers, making sales calls, visiting job sites, and assisting customers in a timely and efficient manner with their projects.
Responsibilities
- Identify target customers, gain, and maintain new market share in the Kansas City Metro area.
- Collect and keep up-to-date information on customers' product use and trends.
- Determine appropriate credit programs based on customer's needs.
- Moves and delivers products to customers.
- Meets and/or exceeds monthly sales and profit goals by following up on sales leads, monitoring market trends, and growing the positive reputation of the company.
- Ensures customer satisfaction by assisting with product recommendations and communicating scheduling and delivery commitments.
- Keeps lines of communication open between internal team members and customers to ensure that services and products are accurately and timely delivered and meets expectations.
- Commitment to initial and continued education about company product lines, packages, procedures and more.
Requirements
- Previous experience selling building materials to contractors and builders with a focus on single family new construction strongly preferred.
- Ability to follow and adhere to a consultative approach.
- Demonstrated ability to prospect, qualify and close new clients.
- Ability to manage and work a flexible schedule and provide dependable transportation for sales calls in the trade area along with working remotely as needed.
- Mathematical skills to calculate using simple geometry and algebra.
- Reasoning ability to define and problems and articulate solutions.
- Effectively and persuasively present proposals while overcoming objections.
- Proficient with common software applications- excel, word, outlook, etc.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent two-year college; or two to four years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires valid vehicle operator’s license in state of residence.
