About the role

As an Outside Sales Rep within the Power/HVAC division, you'll be responsible for increasing revenue, establishing new rental accounts, providing technical support, and educating customers on our products and services.
Responsibilities
- Increase revenue for the branch through quality customer service and a strong understanding of specialty engineered rental products.
- Use exceptional sales and consultative skills to understand customer needs and convert them into loyal customers.
- Call on potential customers to establish new rental accounts and present a full range of turnkey services.
- Work with technical staff to provide job site assessments, application solutions, and equipment sizing.
- Write professional quotes, assist with credit authorizations, resolve problems, and ensure follow-through.
- Inform existing accounts about other products and services offered by United Rentals.
- Give formal sales presentations and conduct demonstrations and personal training sessions.
- Avoid safety incidents and report sales activity on new accounts, revenue, utilization, calls, etc., using salesforce.com and other tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in sales or a related field.
- 3+ years of sales experience, preferably in the construction or related equipment industry.
- Knowledge of construction or related equipment, or comparable industry experience.
- High intellectual abilities to sell complex products and customer solutions.
- Equipment troubleshooting skills and diagnostic skills.
- Strong negotiation and selling skills, and excellent customer service skills.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
- Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with computer skills and MS Office (especially Word and Excel).
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Pay
The base salary and monthly commissions are based on performance. A minimum monthly guarantee incentive is provided during the onboarding and learning process.
Schedule
This role is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.
