About the role

As a Pest Control Consultant in Key West, FL, you will be the face of Rentokil’s national brand in your local community, selling industry-leading pest management services and products to residential customers while delivering exceptional customer service. Your work will directly protect homes and families by assessing needs, proposing tailored solutions, and ensuring long-term satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect homes for pests, pest harborage, and pest entry points
• Based on assessment findings, sell pest control solutions and preventative maintenance plans to residential customers
• Collaborate with the Customer Service Center, Inside Sales department, and Technicians to identify and pursue revenue opportunities
• Partner with the Branch Manager to identify revenue streams within the current customer base and service specialist engagements
• Develop and present proposals to customers that resolve existing pest issues and recommend additional enhancements to household pest services
• Complete home diagrams using the Sales CRM to ensure clarity on customer homes and potential challenges
• Follow up on past proposals to close sales opportunities
• Provide expert guidance during new service installations to ensure job completion meets standards
• Record daily activities and sales performance using the company’s sales CRM

Essential Job Functions

• Regularly lift and carry up to 10 lbs; frequently lift and carry 11–20 lbs
• Frequent movement including sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
• Navigate stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles; maintain balance on narrow, slippery, or moving surfaces
• Comfortably handle encounters with various pests (e.g., spiders, flies, mosquitoes, rodents) and access small spaces such as basements, crawl spaces, and attics
• Safely operate a motor vehicle and maintain cleanliness of vehicle and equipment
• Wear OSHA-compliant PPE, including respirators, and work regularly in confined spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license from your current state of residence
• Company vehicle and gas card provided
• Strong social, customer service, and communication skills
• Preference for 1–2 years of pest technician or sales experience
• Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time within assigned territory(s)
