About the role

This Outside Sales Rep (OSR) opportunity is for individuals who enjoy sales, have a positive attitude, and enjoy interacting with people. OSRs are responsible for finding and completing sales of our full line of building materials and installed services with builders and subcontractors both residentially and commercially. Once a job is sold, they need to manage that job and that relationship.

Responsibilities

  • Find and complete sales of our full line of building materials and installed services with builders and subcontractors both residentially and commercially
  • Manage jobs and relationships with customers
  • Keep up to date information on customers' product use and trends
  • Visit job sites as needed
  • Maintain schedules
  • Put out fires
  • Present and sell all product lines with a focus on decking products
  • Establish and grow relationships with customers in our market
  • Develop relationships with customers and subcontractors to determine their needs and provide beneficial services to them
  • Achieve and maintain sales of all products, focused on outdoor living and decking
  • Give presentations to builders and provide expert advice on product features and benefits
  • Do take-offs and prepare estimates for these products and ensure they are ordered and shipped accurately and on time

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years previous knowledge and experience selling Decking products including wood, composite, pvc, a variety of railings and other outdoor living products
  • Experience in other building materials helpful
  • Ability to cold call future customers and to grow relationships with existing customers
  • Ability to read blueprints and do take-offs with knowledge of local building codes
  • Demonstrated ability to increase sales and improve profitability
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong sense of customer service
  • Decision making abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Reliable transportation and valid drivers license
