What The Outreach Worker II Does
- Conduct community-based violence interruption and outreach
- Serve as a Credible Mentor for a small caseload of Project Restore Brownsville participants
- Build on existing outreach relationships to provide deeper mentorship, engagement, and stabilization support
- Identify and mediate potentially violent conflicts using Cure Violence interruption strategies
- Maintain regular contact with assigned Project Restore participants through structured and informal mentorship
- Support participants with crisis intervention, including hospital visits, court accompaniment, and emergency stabilization
- Encourage consistent participation in Project Restore programming, including case management, group sessions, and internships
- Document participant contacts, outreach interactions, and mentorship activities in required systems
- Collaborate with Case Managers, Social Workers, and Program leadership to ensure coordinated support for participants
- Assist with participant re-engagement when attendance declines
- Support safety planning and violence prevention strategies for participants and their networks
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and case conferences
- Assist with community events, peace-building activities, and outreach initiatives
- Maintain boundaries while providing consistent, supportive presence in participants’ lives
- Track progress and report participant milestones, challenges, and safety concerns to supervisors
