What The Outreach Worker II Does

• Conduct community-based violence interruption and outreach
• Serve as a Credible Mentor for a small caseload of Project Restore Brownsville participants
• Build on existing outreach relationships to provide deeper mentorship, engagement, and stabilization support
• Identify and mediate potentially violent conflicts using Cure Violence interruption strategies
• Maintain regular contact with assigned Project Restore participants through structured and informal mentorship
• Support participants with crisis intervention, including hospital visits, court accompaniment, and emergency stabilization
• Encourage consistent participation in Project Restore programming, including case management, group sessions, and internships
• Document participant contacts, outreach interactions, and mentorship activities in required systems
• Collaborate with Case Managers, Social Workers, and Program leadership to ensure coordinated support for participants
• Assist with participant re-engagement when attendance declines
• Support safety planning and violence prevention strategies for participants and their networks
• Participate in team meetings, supervision, and case conferences
• Assist with community events, peace-building activities, and outreach initiatives
• Maintain boundaries while providing consistent, supportive presence in participants’ lives
• Track progress and report participant milestones, challenges, and safety concerns to supervisors
