About the role
The Outreach Worker is responsible for overseeing a Family Engagement Center to enhance every child's education and learning experience by strengthening the partnership between schools, families, and the community.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate a warm and welcoming Family Engagement Center
- Build positive relationships with the community, parents, students, teachers, staff, administrators, and co-workers
- Cookinate basic needs resources
- Work with Community Partners
- Teach academic and functional support skills to adults using district approved curriculum
- Attend assigned meetings
- Attend District professional development trainings
- Assist principals and school community councils with partnership activities
- Inform patrons/families of available school, GSD, and Community resources/services
- Facilitate partnerships and involvement between parents, school, and school-parent organizations
- Turn in monthly reports
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with schools and families preferred
Qualifications
- Spanish-speaking abilities preferred
