OUTPOST TEAM MEMBER

Responsibilities

• Provide information about FOKP’s mandate and activities.
• Provide information on Killarney Provincial Park and area attractions.
• Aid in the sale of park maps, field guides, and other items.
• Handle cash, prepare daily sales summaries, count inventory, price, and stock store products.
• Fulfill online store orders.
• Promote responsible wilderness ethics and skills.
• Sell and distribute FOKP publications to vendors.
• Assist in FOKP programming (e.g., Artist in Residence).
• Maintain a clean and professional work and display area.
• Present a clean, professional personal appearance.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of retail sales and cash handling procedures.
• Knowledge of Friends of Killarney Park, Killarney Provincial Park, and associated natural and cultural resources.
• Ability to take initiative and work well as part of a team.
• Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Effective working with modest supervision.

General Conditions

• Work closely with the staff of Ontario Parks at Killarney Provincial Park.
• Staff housing at the Provincial Park is available if required.

Pay

$18.20 per hour + 4% vacation pay
