Outpatient Surgery RN/LPN/CMA, General Surgery Clinic (Full Time)
About the role
Provides direct and indirect patient care in the office/clinic setting. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a registered nurse and/or physician. Maintains regulatory requirements, nursing and office/clinic policies, procedures, and standards.
Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition. Assesses operating room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases, and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met.
Recognize subtle changes in a general surgery or bariatric/general surgery patient's condition and determine when findings require immediate escalation to the surgeon for follow-up.
Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations. Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, manage stressful situations, and handle conflict.
Will perform all job duties or job tasks as assigned. Will follow and adhere to all requirements, regulations, and procedures of any licensing board or agency. Must comply with all Benefis Health System’s organization policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Associate degree in nursing
- Current state licensed practical nurse license required
- Current BLS certification
- Previous experience in the operating room
